VILLA ZARRI EXPERIENTIAL BEER GARDEN COMPETITION
Making the most out of the original structure, new spaces have been created in order to offer a clear, spacious and illuminated building to the visitor, where nature and light are the main focus of the architecture.
Villa Zarri Experiential Beer Garden welcomes us with an imposing translucent facade. Acid-etched glass for the upper part and tile latticework guarding the main entrance. The structure is made of concrete painted in white.
The whole building has been designed as an inverse terrarium so the natural surroundings can be enjoyed from inside while learning about the brewing process or tasting a wide range of beers.
Right as we enter the building, a feeling of space and depth invades us as we encounter the water mirror that reflects the vaults of the ceiling above. Together with the natural light coming from the translucent facade, it drives us through the inside vegetation in the main nave towards the back garden.
For an integrated orientation, every space of the building has been marked with bas-relief on the walls.
Villa Zarri welcomes us with typical ceramics from the region, open spaces and natural light. The Reception represents the style that awaits through the rest of the building, wooden doors, concrete walls and a clean and restrained architecture that leaves no room for excessive decoration.
On the right, you can find The Shop, which connects the entrance with the Restaurant. These are two levels where products from various countries and partners can be found. Having outdoor access, it is the perfect ending to our visit to Villa Zarri Experiential Beer Garden.
In order to protect the raw materials and keep them in perfect conditions, The Laboratory is the only large space closed with white bricks in the building. It mixes the traditional old machinery and craftwork with modern microscopes and interactive screens to provide a guided visit through the brewing process.
With views towards the garden, The Tasting Hall rewards our visit with an illuminated and cozy area. Here we can enjoy the different types of beer that Villa Zarri has to offer, gathering with our companions around the draught on the low table or standing next to the line of draughts on the bar and. The music and the aromas will do the rest.
Marble tables looking towards the garden. Views that teases us with the next step in our visit. The atmosphere both at The Restaurant and at The Bar, on the upper level, is the culmination of what The Laboratory and The Tasting Hall have been building up to.
Sunblinds can be used to block the light and set a more intimate atmosphere.
On both sides of the main nave, a Multipurpose Space has been set for expositions and masterclasses to be hold where light comes through the acid-etched glass to light up the room
Outside, three Glass Cabins can be seen among the trees. In them, two open spaces can be distinguished, one space with stands which allows us to sit down and enjoy the views, and the other has a bar where to continue to taste all the different beers we can find at Villa Zarri.
As nature is one of the main focuses of Villa Zarri Experiential Beer Garden, Horseshoe-shaped Benches await next to the glass cabins so we can get lost among the trees with our friends and converse in a quieter place.
